Personal Training Part 2 – Injury Rehab Clients

Aside from providing Personal Training Services for weight/fat loss clients I specialize in a couple of different areas:

  • Rehabilitation and Strength training after Injuries
  • Strength & Conditioning for Runners, Triathletes and Duathletes (also other sports)
  • Powerlifting
  • Weightloss in clients with hormonal issues: Adrenal fatigue, peri-menopause, menopause, PCOS, hypothyroid and associated symptoms

Why have I chosen these particular specialties?

Personal Training after an Injury-Why?

Ever since graduating with a chiropractic degree I have always had a keen interest in the injury rehab side of a therapists profession.

Over the years of practicing in different roles and clinics I became more and more convinced that in order for people to have long lasting results from their treatments and exercise rehab, there needed to be another step after the typical rehab exercises prescribed by a physical therapist.

Rehab exercises are an important basis , like a keystone, to the overall treatment but more strength with carefully selected exercises relevant to the person and impeccable technique will further improve the chances of clients remaining pain free and living a less injury prone life.

Some of my regular strength training clients include a runner building up strength after and broken ankle, a young woman who has had spinal surgery for a prolapsed disc and with chronic pain, a middle aged gentleman who suffered from knee pain when returning to running , and that is just a small selection.

All of these clients benefitted from further strength training and conditioning and remain pain free or have had a reduction in symptoms.
